This music video is so neat! It was shot with 3 video projectors, and beaming images onto the walls and floor. You definitely have to do a double take a few times.

Ray's new CD comes out August 17th. Should be fan-flippin-tastic! I'm also loving this typography.

the swell season

Frames frontman Glen Hansard and Czech pianist/singer/songwriter Marketa Irglova have always been a favorite duo of mine. They recently played in my former home of Cleveland, and I am quite bummed I missed the chance to see them live.



Together they create some of the most haunting melodies and memorable lyrics. Here is a live version of Marketa singing her new song "Crossroads," which is said to be "part Joni Mitchell, part Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata." The description had me at Joni.



I look forward to their upcoming compositions, but their old work never tires me. Fantasy Man and Gold are tracks I can replay repeatedly, yet still reveal a newfound meaning.

Simply, swell.

I love this Jose Gonzalez cover of the song Heartbeats. And this advertisement for the Sony Bravia is brilliantly shot and completely captivating. I would've loved to been a passerby in San Francisco when they filmed this.

I love her music- this song especially. The loose illustrations in this video are quite nice. Happy Thursday, friends.

she & him, vol 2

She & Him's second album entitled Volume 2 was just released yesterday. Not gonna lie- I'm pretty excited about it. They infuse 50's and 60's-sounding melodies with a bit of guitar strumming and folksy vocals..at least that's my take on it. I am thrilled to get the chance to see them live at the Trustees on Saturday nite as part of the Savannah Music Fest. Take a browse on their lovely, wonderfully-designed, new site here.
