I moved downtown a few weekends ago, just a mere 5 blocks from Forsyth Park. I was lucky enough to have my dad come in town from Pensacola to help me restore and repaint some of my furniture hand-me-downs. After much thought and paint department browsing, I finally pinned down a palette. The walls in my house are a light blue grey with a deep cream colored wainscoating. And in honor of Savannah, I chose to paint my accent pieces a light shade of "haint blue." I also am very fond of golden yellow, so I pulled in that color as well.
(L): Grey rug hand-cut from a remnant at Culver Rug Company; Coffee table from Steal Magnolias; Art above rocker painted by Amanda Brown; Art above couch is, well, an old drawer.
(R): Curtain tapestry from Urban Outfitters; Pillows from Ikea; Jute rug from World Market; Chair, aka The Aidan Chair, is a hand-me-down piece from my dear Uncle Kenny; A sleepy Nattie Gann perched on Aidan.
(L): Parcel dropbox created by a certain, handy gentleman.
(R): Jadite salt/pepper shakers from Steal Magnolias; Art above stove is an old note I wrote to my grandma that reads- Because I love you Nanny, I promise to bake. Love, Claire.
(L): My studio/spare bedroom
(R): "C" on fireplace created by Emily Dove Gross; Turquoise mason jars from my dear friend Hilary's wedding last year (as is the dried bouquet).
My dad repainted this rocker a cheery yellow with a new cushion and placemat from World Market.
I always welcome visitors, so please come and soak in the moss and magnolias!
